THEORETICAL PHASE
Highly qualified Captains, Pilots, Medics and flight Attendants authorised by the Civil Aviation General Directorate ( SP ) train our students through the theory phase of the course in the following subjects:
General knowledge of aviation, Aeronautic engines, Systems, Instruments, Navigation, Meteorology, Regulations, Aeronautic Law, Normal and Emergency Operation, Psychology, Aeronautic Medicine, First aid, Survival in Sea, Mountains and Desert.
PRACTICAL
PHASE
The practical phase is run by Flight Attendants, Life Guards and Fire fighters tasked with training the students in the following subjects:
Real flight practice, Fire fighting, Safety Message, Emergency Evacuation by ramp, Evacuation by rope, Swimming pool: use of collision life- jacket and use of dinghy (from 6 to 4 persons), Survival in the sea.
The students learn to handle aeronautic materials, like dinghies, BCF extinguishers, full face masks, and to manage an emergency evacuation with smoke, fire ( simulated ) and toxic agents.
Moreover, with the use of new simulators, the student will learn to handle multi zone digital communication systems, found for example in the A320.
After the practical part the students will take the official exam of the Civil Aviation General Directorate for release of the certificate.
This certificate will have an international value recognised by more than 23 countries according to regulation JAR sub part o. In addition the school awards its own document to certify knowledge of the English or Spanish language.
SIMULATORS
The course provides teaching of the principal communication systems and the instrumentation inside a flight cabin, and, through use of the simulators, the student will learn the importance of the flight auxiliary in the most critical moments of an emergency, such as smoke in the passenger cabin, fire in the galley, fire in the toilet involving the possible presence of toxic agents.
The FLYhostess simulators are among the best in the world; according to the number of students and the capacity of each simulator the student will be able to finish the course in an Iberia A320 Full Motion Simulator.
SWIMMING POOLS
During the course, FLYhostess provides the best sporting facilities in order to prepare the students to pass the pool exam, which consists of swimming 100m in 2,30 min, immobilising and then pulling a person in the water for 25 metres , knowing how to use the lifeboat and inflating the life- jacket in the water. Should the student not know how to swim, FLYhostess undertakes to give free swimming courses adequate for passing the final test.
FIRE FIGHTING
One of the most spectacular exercises is surely the anti-fire.
Each student learns how to put on the fire-proof suit in the least possible time, to put on the anti-smoke mask and put out a controlled fire. This exercise takes place with the constant presence of a firefighter and with equipment certified according to current regulations.
